Prior to the treatment protocol, the study subjects had smoked cigarettes for a mean time of 27 years, smoking an average of forty cigarettes per day. Over 90% of the subjects had previously made unsuccessful attempts to stop smoking. Of those who successfully stopped due to hypnosis, 83% felt that they had no further desire for tobacco.
